Role : Operations Manager CARE – Children’s Services (Social Care) TWO YEARS' EXPERIENCE IN A SENIOR ROLE IN THE CARE SECTOR ESSENTIAL Head Office Location : Leicester Location of Services : London, Essex and Kent Salary : £50,000 - £60,000 (plus performance related Bonus) We are a leading provider of care based in Leicester. We operate Learning Disability Children’s Homes in Leicester and Essex. We are currently seeking an Operations Manager to lead our Children’s Homes in the Kent and Essex area. We have one existing service, and are in the process of developing a further two. Once these projects are complete, we would look to develop additional services. The key tasks that the successful applicant must fulfil are: · Be responsible and accountable for the operational and care delivery of the Children’s Services that you lead on. · Ensure that all operational and care related targets are met, irrespective of whether these are internal KPI’s or external compliance measures set by Ofsted, Children’s Commissioners, etc. · Create a child-focused, person-centred culture within your services. · Ensure that all financial and occupancy targets are met. · Work according to the measures as detailed in the organisation’s Business Plan. · Lead on the forming and sustaining of positive relationships with Ofsted, Children’s Commissioners, families of Young People, etc. · Ensuring that all of the Children’s Services are appropriately staffed. · Ensuring that staff attend mandatory and specialist training in good time. · Be a hands-on leader, who is prepared to assist Home Managers and staff directly, as and when required. · Ensure that all Residents and staff are kept safe, and that all Safeguarding Protocols are followed and adhered to at all times. · To effectively line-manage, supervise and support the Home Managers for whom you are responsible. · To assist the Business Development Manager in raising awareness of Chartwell’s Children’s Services; and to contribute to the development of company strategy. · To understand and keep abreast of local and national policy context, local competitors and expansion opportunities. Education, Qualifications and Experience · Level 4 or Level 5 NVQ with Children and Young people or equivalent. · Minimum of 3 years’ experience within management of Children’s Services that include Education Services. · Strong leadership and management skills. · ? Be proactive and solution focused. · Good knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook. · Willing to travel to the various Chartwell Homes and also travel to Conferences, Seminars and meetings with Commissioners, Social Workers, etc. · A car can be provided if needed.
