Senior Structural Design Engineer
My client is a consultancy in Liecester that are seeking a senior structural design engineer for their practice. The right candidate will be; Chartered or working towards your Chartership. You will have a minimum of 5 years' post-graduate experience. You will have the ability to assess, supervise and carry out engineering design. You will have the ability to write reports and prepare contract documentation and specifications without supervision. You will be able to carry out and supervise the production of engineering design concept drawings and construction drawings to a standard required for contractors to price and construct the works, including organisation of topographical and soil surveys. You will be knowledgeable of Health & Safety procedures. You will be knowledgeable on the designers' requirements under the Construction, Design and Management (CDM) Regulations for construction work. This will entail you being able to undertake Risk Assessments and all other responsibilities of Designers under the CDM Regulations. You will be able to undertake responsibility and risk management requirements including compliance with Construction, Design and Management Regulations for Construction Works, and undertake all responsibilities of Designer under CDM. You will be able to deliver individual engineering projects in compliance with Client requirements, Health & Safety, and National Legislation. You will be able to produce cost estimates for costs, fees and disbursements, monitoring these costs throughout the projects and reporting on meeting budgets. You will have the ability to diagnose structural defects, propose solutions and produce succinct reports. The right candidate will have expeience on working for consultancies on projects in the region of £500k-£5million.
