Location: Birmingham (West Midlands)

Salary: Up to £80,000 dependent upon experience. Excellent bonus package.

The Client: Operations Director

Our client is an extremely successful group of business, providing building services into both private and government establishments. The group offers an extensive range of services from mechanical and electrical through to general construction and interior works.

The Role: Operations Director

This is a completely new role, available due to the continuous and steady growth of the group. You will be a commercially minded and operationally focussed professional meeting business safety demands, profitability and production through the economic use of the Group's resources.

You will hold the most senior operational role within the Group and will report directly into the owner. You will be dynamic and capable of working as part of the wider team whilst managing multiple departments beneath you and aiding the continuous development and improvement of the company Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality systems.

Key Responsibilities: Operations Director

You will have a natural ability and passion for business development and building solid relationships with large, major clients. It is crucial for you to be competent in the mobilisation of contracts as well as able to bring in supply chain.

A primary function will include developing and maintaining competent management, implementation and compliance with company systems and organising appropriate resource to support the Project Teams, which at all times shall be efficient and proficient being perceived as professionals in their work.

You will provide technical and operational support to the other teams and assist the project teams in the preparation of factual and accurate reports.

Improve the Group's overall performance and image by ensuring all contracts are run effectively to a high quality to meet, or better completion dates and produce maximum return to improve the Group's profitability.

Experience and Skills Required: Operations Director

  • Engaging and proactive leadership qualities, leading from the front.
  • Experience of both commercial and social markets
  • Experience of general building, refurbishment and M&E projects.
  • Supply chain and client retention
  • Capable of procuring tenders
  • Extensive market knowledge on prelims

You will currently be an Operations Director, Regional Director, Regional Operations Director, General Manager, Senior Operations Manager, Operations Manager, Business Development Manager, Contracts Director, Project Director, Contracts Manager, or Project Manager working for a main contractor or building services provider catering to both private and public clients.
