Head of IT - Staffordshire My Client are a Global Organisation and require an Head of IT / IT Manager to join them and manage a small team of 12 Server Engineers. The Head of IT role is to plan, organise, and manage the IT Server Infrastructure Team and overall operations to ensure the smooth running of the organisation's IT infrastructure. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimising key functional areas, particularly server infrastructure and the data centre. The company consists of approximately 4000 users, covering 40 sites. Business Attributes: - Experience of managing and developing an infrastructure team with diverse technical skills and experience. - Broad spectrum of technology knowledge and experience including deep IT knowledge on servers, storage and data centres. - Able to build and maintain effective working relationships at all levels from team members to senior stakeholders - Microsoft Licensing - Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems (Windows Server 2008/2012, Windows 7/10, Exchange 2010/2013, SCOM) - VMware, Citrix and Hyper-V experience - Any UNIX Experience an advantage - Any Network knowledge an advantage Personal attributes - Strong team leadership skills, able to demonstrate expertise in staff motivation, training, recognition and coaching/mentoring - Experience to working to strict SLA's, OLA's and KPI's - Point of Out of Hours Escalation - Ability to understand, explain and present complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels - Delegation with an understanding of giving responsibility whilst remaining accountable - Planning, negotiation and influencing skills - Knowledge of Prince 2 and/or ITIL Accredited - Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment and make sound decisions in emergency situations The ideal candidate will have come from a technical back ground, but now be in a management position - This is not a technical role, but you must be able to hold your own on the technology front, and be able to translate requirement when required.
