Audit Accountant / Part Qualified Accounts Auditor

Role: Audit Accountant / Part Qualified Accounts Auditor
Type: Full time, permanent
Salary: GBP18,000 - GBP22,000 per annum
Benefits: 28 Days Holiday per Annum.
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire
Hours: 37.5 Hours per week. Monday to Friday 9:00am - 5:00pm.

The successful public practice Audit Accountant (Part Qualified) is a mixed role of audit and accounts. You will be responsible for undertaking the preparation of client accounts, assisting with the provision of a comprehensive accounting and business advisory service to a portfolio of clients. Assisting Senior Auditor on audit assignments.

Key Responsibilities

* Preparation and audit of client accounts to final stage dependent on the complexity of the business. Involving preparation of draft accounts for client meeting with Manager.
* Assist with technical audit testing during audit assignments and to work with a team to achieve successful completion of audits on a timely basis.
* Control budgets and meet audit objectives.
* Assist with the completion of client accounts preparation and prepare corporation tax computations where appropriate to support audit work.
* Provide a range of other services to clients as required e.g. general book-keeping, VAT Returns, assistance with accounting software, tax computations etc.
* Develop and maintain a good working relationship with clients understanding own limitations in advising the client on accounting matters.
* Assist with on the job training of technicians and trainees, monitor progress of work, review and provide appropriate feedback in accordance with procedures.

Essential Requirements

* Part / fully Qualified AAT or ACA or ACCA qualified or qualified by experience with relevant general practice experience.
* Able to prepare accounts independently to final stage.
* Able to demonstrate effective client inter-personal skills.
* Actively manage own workloads and take responsibility for own development.
* Strong IT skills to operate in-house programs and prepare / develop spreadsheets.
* Fully conversant with accounts preparation programs.
* Possess a good working knowledge of accounting standards and the accounting provisions of the Companies Act, and relevant taxation matters.
