Distribution Shift Lead - Coventry - Rotating AM/PM shifts - Salary negotiable

Role Purpose: To support in ensuring the handling and dispatch of all customer products is achieved to optimum levels of cost and efficiency through the effective supervision and control of all staff and resources, whilst equally maintaining the highest levels of safety, welfare and security within all areas of warehouse shift activity.

Key Duties: 

  • Own and other employees Health, Safety and Welfare. 
  • Supervision, guidance, support, instruction and training for the development of skills, knowledge and awareness relative to operational requirements, Health, Safety and Welfare of all staff within areas of responsibility. 
  • Carry out investigative processes and where appropriate take relevant action with regards to providing improvement to operational deficiencies, implementation of change, counselling, coaching or/and disciplinary action where deemed the appropriate.
  • Support the commercial objectives of the business through a process of continual review and operational appraisal. 
  • Ensuring levels of housekeeping are maintained to the highest standards throughout areas of responsibility or/and where appropriate informing colleagues of improvement requirements where appropriate. 
  • Deputise during periods of absence 
  • Carry out any other duties, which from time to time may be reasonably requested from the site management team. 

Key Skills: 

You must have demonstrable experience of leading / managing teams within a warehouse / production / distribution environment of 40 + staff in order to apply for this role.  This is a hands on role. 

  • Experience and licensed to driver Forklift Trucks, Pallett Trucks, etc..
  • Process oriented - an appreciation for specific client requirements 
  • People manager - Leads by example, encourages team spirit and can motivate a team to ensure productivity.  
  • Adaptable & responsive to change - ability to monitor work flow and move workforce accordingly. 
  • Enthusiasm, drive and a can-do attitude 
  • Can communicate clearly to colleagues and managers 
  • Able to work on own initiative and to strict deadlines 
  • Computer literate and able to follow complex instructions
