Salary: £31,095 pa + £1,200 pa Car allowance  

Permanent - 35 hours per week is advertising for an Area Surveyor on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider based in Leicester.

An opportunity has arisen for an Area Surveyor to support the Agency Manager in providing all aspects of Property Services.  You will be joining a dedicated team and they really want to hear from you if:

You are educated to HNC level or equivalent in a building or construction related discipline or have previous experience in a construction maintenance environment. 

Are customer focused with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships;

Are able to work with minimum supervision and plan and prioritise your own workload and the workload of others;

Have the ability to work on your own initiative whilst maintaining a team ethos.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting housing stock and building works, preparing term contract schedules and specifications, compiling tender/contract documentation to deliver repairs and improvement works to a range of buildings.  You will be required to carry out pre and post inspection surveys, void surveys and compile schedules for work.  Part of the role will require you to prepare annual budget proposals, reports and manage insurance claims related to properties.  In addition, you will participate in tenant meetings, arrange and chair regular contract and site meetings with contractors and attend committee meetings. 

You will be a strong team player who is customer focused and has a positive 'can do' attitude. You will be highly organised with a structured approach to work and the ability to work on your own initiative whilst maintaining a team ethos.  The successful candidate will also be a strong communicator with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels.

Being capable of working to deadlines is essential as is having knowledge of housing maintenance, repair specifications, diagnosing defects and remedial works.  A strong knowledge of social housing management and property management systems (Northgate or similar) would be desirable. It is essential that you must have a valid driving licence and daily access to a car for business use.
