Charnwood Borough sits within the three cities of Leicester, Nottingham and Derby. One third of the 167,000 population live in the thriving university town of Loughborough, with most of the remaining two thirds within the small towns and villages of the Wolds, the Soar and Wreake Valleys, Charnwood Forest and on the edge of Leicester.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced customer service professional looking for a new challenge / direction to develop and drive forward the customer service focus of a busy local authority planning service.
We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated and forward thinking customer focused professional with substantial experience of working with customers and ensuring provision of excellent customer service, including the management of complaints.
You will lead the Customer Support and Performance Team in supporting the Planning service, coordinate the collation and timely reporting of performance information and customer satisfaction data, and drive the delivery of transformational change and continuous improvement to secure new and more efficient customer focused business processes.
You will have significant management or supervisory experience and be able to communicate clearly and effectively with a wide variety of people, exercising tact and diplomacy at all times, and have excellent interpersonal and organisational skills with an ability to work to tight deadlines with the minimum of supervision.
An appreciation of the planning process would be beneficial but not essential, whereas a strong customer service ethic and commitment to realising continuous service improvement is crucial.
