Maintenance Technician - Assembly

So that our production con­tinues to run smoothly, we are looking for Maintenance Technicians to join our BMW Group Plant in Hams Hall, near Birmingham.

In this role, you will be responsible for the effective technical use of a variety of maintenance principles, guaranteeing that the efficiency and technical availability of the facility is continuously maintained. You will also provide hands on technical support to resolve any quality, efficiency and complex problems.


  • Process knowledge & training ensuring that necessary skills are readily available for production demand and actively participate in process change;
  • Make sure that all products are delivered on time to the customer and fully meet the required specification standards, to guarantee customer satisfaction;
  •  Ensure that the efficiency of machinery is continuously working to its optimum performance to minimise impact on the production demand;
  •  Contribute as an effective member of a team to make sure all problem resolution activities are completed in a timely manner with minimal impact to production and customer demands, leading to maintenance and facility target achievement;
  •  Ensure technical issues within area have minimal impact on the achievement of production targets;
  •  Make sure RFT is maintained to high percentage for process area;
  •  Ensure apprentice guidance in area is consistent and to the highest standard;
  •  Ensure that working area meets all health, safety & environmental requirements and fully complies with all BMW standards.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Qualified to NVQ 3 or equivalent in an electrical/mechanical discipline.
  • Minimum of four year apprenticeship in an electrical / mechanical / tool room machinist discipline.
  • Familiarity with machinery, technical / electrical / Mechanical systems.
  • SAP data recording knowledge for daily update.
  • Ideally experienced in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Preferable knowledge with high volume production machinery.
